First Turns At Revelstoke Mountain Resort: Friday, December 3, 2010 Tip Tf The Day: Ski And Ride Aware! (01-Dec-10)

As snow continues to fall Revelstoke Mountain Resort...

Tuesday, November 30, 2010, Revelstoke, BC:   As snow continues to fall Revelstoke Mountain Resort is in preparation mode for the most anticipated resort opening of 2010!  Revelstoke Mountain Resort will open the mountain on Friday, operating the Revelation Gondola and The Stoke Chair, with skiing available on the Upper Mountain and the North Bowl area.

Tickets for the weekend are priced at $59 for adults, $38 for seniors and youth and $18 for children.  New this year, students with valid student ID will receive 25% off the adult window rate.  Season Pass Reciprocals and Locals discounts will apply. The lifts will be spinning from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm all weekend, and Skier Services at Nelsen Lodge will be open from 8:00 – 4:00pm. Services at Nelsen Lodge this weekend will include Retail, Rentals and Repairs and the Revelstoke Outdoors Centre.

This year the selection in Retail will include options from Arcteryx, Marmot, Helly Hansen, Black Diamond and skis from Dynastar. There is a wide selection of helmets and goggles from Oakley, Smith and Scott.

Guests will be able to grab a bite to eat throughout the day, making the most of the stunning views and the opportunity to rest tired, early season muscles.

Food and Beverage

Perfect for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Après Ski or a social drink with friends, the Rockford wok|bar|grill situated at the base of the Revelation Gondola is now open daily, operating from 7am to 10pm.  On mountain, a full menu will be available at Mid Mountain Lodge and The Mackenzie Outpost will be open for business at the top of the Revelation Gondola. Weather permitting; a BBQ will be available at The Mackenzie Outpost over the weekend with burgers, smokies and veggie options available.

Heads up from the Patrol Hut

Ski patrol at RMR want to caution guests about the early season conditions.  Patrol recommends to “start your day out slowly, this weekend is about stretching your legs, getting outside and enjoying a mellow first day on the slopes. We have 132 days to go; we want to see you on the first day and the last!”

Season Pass Pick up

Revelstoke Mountain Resort would also like to encourage Season Pass holders to pick up their pass before Friday morning to avoid the morning rush.  Drop by the Revelstoke Presentation Centre at 122 Mackenzie Avenue on Wednesday, December 1st from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, or Thursday, December 2nd from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm.  Guest Services at Nelsen Lodge will also be open 8:30am to 4:30pm this week for pass pick up.

Shuttle Bus

The RMR local shuttle will begin regular operations on Friday at 6:15am. Schedules and route information is available at www.revelstokemountainresort.com.  For guests coming from out of town, The Revelstoke Connection provides service from Kelowna and Calgary International Airports. To book, visit www.revelstokeconnection.com.

A final reminder, the access road to Mid-Mountain Lodge is not open to the public. All loading is from Nelsen Lodge at the base of the Resort.
