Final Weekend At RED Mountain (01-Apr-11)

One last chance to ski or snowboard for the season

ROSSLAND, B.C. – RED Mountain Resort has seen over 7 meters of snowfall over the course of the season.  March alone has seen over 200cms of snowfall over 29 days!  One can only imagine  this winter has been terrific for snow enthusiasts, but as the season changes to spring, the shift marks an end to winter.  As such, it is a sign of an imminent end of another season at RED Mountain – RED closes for the season on Sunday, April 3rd.

To celebrate the final weekend, RED is putting on a final few events:

·         Saturday, April 2nd:

o    Mogul Mania

·         Sunday, April 3rd:

o    Dummy Downhill

o    Deck Party and season pass holder appreciation draw

Come out to enjoy the final weekend of skiing or snowboarding with some fun filled events at RED this weekend.

As for how the season has gone - RED has seen an increase in the number of skier and boarder visits over the course of the season.  With a sense of renewal at RED Mountain through a new marketing campaign for the resort, an expanded and renovated day lodge and affordable luxury accommodations, expanded slack country, skiers and boarders that truly appreciate this ‘core’ resort experience have come out to enjoy the snow this past winter.

Finally, now is the time to purchase your season pass for the 2011-12 season.  If a pass is purchased by the end of April, skiers and boarders will be able to save up to 30% off their next year’s season pass.  Rossland’s Nelson & District Credit Union will also be providing opportunities for people to purchase the 2011-12 season pass through an interest free program.  Contact Rossland’s Nelson & District Credit Union for more details.
