Eldora Opens Tomorrow With Best Conditions In Years (19-Nov-10)

Eldora Mountain Resort opens for the 2010-2011 season on Friday...

Eldora Mountain Resort opens for the 2010-2011 season on Friday, November 19, 2010. The ski area, located 21 miles west of Boulder, Colorado will open with 7 trails and 4 lifts scheduled to operate. The recent snowstorm that moved into the Front Range Mountains of Colorado brought an abundance of new snow to Eldora with 16 inches in just over a 24 hour period. Cold winter conditions have allowed for snowmaking operations to run full-force. “This will be the best Opening Day conditions in many years” says Rob Linde, Eldora’s spokesperson. “This week’s storm, coupled with cold temperatures has made the difference.”

Eldora will open with a 24-inch base of machine-made and packed powder snow. Hornblower to International and Jolly Jug to Sunset trails will open on Challenge Mountain. Bunnyfair trail, serviced by EZ lift on Little Hawk Mountain and the Sun Kid surface lift will also be open to the public. Lifts will open at 9:00am and remain open until 4:00pm.  More terrain will open as soon as weather permits.

The Eldora Nordic Center will also open this Friday with over 15 kilometers of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. There will be 12 groomed trails open with early season conditions and many of the snowshoe trails will also be open.

Eldora will offer lessons, equipment rentals and food and beverage for opening and throughout the season.

Early Season lift ticket prices are: $51 Adult Full-day; $24 Junior Full-day (ages 6-15); $36 Senior (ages 65-74); $8 for 5 yrs. and under and 75 yrs. and older.
