Claudia Avon Takes Top Spot in the Women’s Category...

WHISTLER, BC, March 21, 2010 – The 14th annual Showcase Showdown Presented by Burton straight-armed through the Nintendo Highest Level Terrain Park Saturday, March 19.

Referred to as the Superbowl Slopestyle, the course was full of football inspired features including the Linebacker Rail section, the Field Goal Channel Gap, and Quarterback Sneak Quarter Pipe. 

In typical Showcase Showdown style, a few local weather favorites made an appearance including a little snow and a small cameo made by the sun. When the snow settled, Darcy Sharpe took first place with a score of 27.2. Second place went to Craig Beaulieu with a score of 26.2 and Dave Fortin took third place with a score of 25.1. 

On the women’s side, Claudia Avon rode away in first place with a score of 23, Molly Milligan took second place with a score of 21.4, and Breanna Strangeland took third place with a score of 20.

The two Samsung Tablets went to Andre Benoit and Craig McMorris for Samsung’s Best Tweak of the Day contest.
