Cadbury Moro Slopestyle Competition (22-Sep-08)

The Remarkables, NZ, September 22, 2008 - It was maximum air for freestylers on snowboards or skis

It was maximum air for freestylers on snowboards or skis in the Up & Go Terrain Park at The Remarkables on Saturday for the season final of the Cadbury Moro Slopestyle competition.

Nick Hyne of Queenstown once again showed fine form to again win the top place in the open men’s snowboard category as did Matt Soundy in the ski division.

The four competition series is 10 years old this year providing an inclusive competition for all age with Open and Junior categories for male and female competitors.

Josh Clark, Youth Action Sports Co-ordinator says the Cadbury Moro Slopestyle is a really popular event that attracts lots of people and a good line up of sponsors and prizes.

“This year we had awesome prizes from Ride Snowboards, Smith and Session outerwear plus cash – a total prize pool value of around $3K for each of the four events.  Motogrill provided food for competitors each day and there were plenty of Moro bars to keep energy levels high.

“It’s been a great opportunity for people to just have a go.  They could watch the Parklife Rider Team and learn from them as well as going hard in the park for their own points and prizes.”

Yesterday’s adverse weather conditions meant round three of the Parklife Youth Mini Shred for young riders (under 16) had to be postponed.  It will run next Sunday, September 28, subject to weather.
