For those of you who weren't luck enought to be at Big Whites opening, it was great fun with with holiday makers and locals all out on the mountain celebrating the opening of the 2008/2009 season. It was a spectacle witnessing the energy and excitement of everyone enjoying their first tracks, the vibe was contagious.
The energy will soar again today with The Bullet Chair open from 8:45am to 3:30pm with enthusiasts waiting at the bottom of the lift in anticipation for first tracks down Sun Run.
We've all been patient and we're finally getting what we've been waiting for with snow falling early again this morning and 20cm of prized powder forecasted to fall over the next 24 hours. Conditions are getting better daily with Serwa's, Easy Out, Highway 33, Easy street and the Sun Run all open for skiing and riding today. With the anticipated snowfall forecasted for today, it is expected that the Black Forrest Chair will open tomorrow with even more terrain.
"The conditions are great for the start of the season, we've got good coverage on our opened runs and things are only going to get better" commented Michael J. Ballingal, Senior Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, Big White and Silver Star Ski Resorts.
Today will also see the opening of the Mega Snowcoaster Tube Park which will be open from 4pm to 9pm, and 2pm to 9pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The Skating Rink will also be open from 11am to 9pm so things are shaping up nicely for family fun.
