Australia, June 14, 2009 - Several of Australia's ski areas

After a slow start, two of Australia's leading ski resorts are reporting positive times this past week.

Perisher opened its Mt Perisher slopes over the past week with reports of conditions being "the best in a decade" following a dump of 58cm since last Sunday.

And with Perisher's $19 million snowmaking expansion, the resort was able to open Towers Run for skiing and boarding on Saturday the 13th.

Mt Buller in Victoria have also reported the opening of the Skyline terrain park and half pipe at the weekend.
