Australia's largest and most popular alpine resort Perisher has unveiled Australia's first snow resort iPhone application, Perisher Tapped.

The new iPhone application provides a comprehensive guide to Perisher as well as the latest information including snow conditions, weather, ski lessons, webcam images and up-to-the-minute ski lift status. And it's free.

Tapped features an interactive map so that skiers and snowboarders can easily locate themselves on the Perisher Trail Guide. The Fire Eagle location sharing services mean that people can let their friends know exactly where they are -- and locate their friends in return. With the map, it's much easier to find attractions and amenities throughout the resort as well. 

"With Perisher Tapped, everything is at your fingertips. Anything skiers and snowboarders want to know or experience is just a click away -- they can even keep to-to-date on our Facebook and Twitter posts," said Gary Grant, General Manager, Sales, Marketing and Hospitality.

Skiers and snowboarders can also record their tracks and log their vertical distances and display their runs on the trail map, and share them with their friends via email, post them on Facebook, or view them on Google Earth.
