RED Mountain Resort hosting the 10th Annual Canadian Freeskiing Championships
ROSSLAND, B.C. – RED Mountain has been worked into the DNA of freeskiers over 10 years. From January 12-22nd, 2011, RED will see a worldwide contingency of skiers descend on Rossland, B.C. to compete in the Canadian Open Freeskiing Championships.
The 10th annual event will again see Stikeman Elliott as the presenting sponsor of the event. Stikeman Elliott is proud to sponsor the competition for a second year. “This is an amazing event held at Western Canada’s original ski resort. We wish all competitors the very best of luck in this competition. This sponsorship reflects our firm’s support to community programs and initiatives as well as our commitment and connection to the Rossland community." stated Ross MacDonald, Managing Partner, Stikeman Elliott.
The Senior and Junior Open will see competitors charging the slopes based on five criteria: Line, Control, Fluidity, Technique and Aggression. Spectators can catch all the action with RED’s highly visible venues. The Junior Open and Senior Open qualifiers will be held on Links Line under the Motherlode Chair. The Senior Open finals will be held on the legendary Mount Roberts visible from a run called the “Ledges” – accessed from Motherlode or Paradise Chairs.
With La Nina currently in full force, snow conditions on both courses promises to be in great shape. Registration for the event can be found at: www.canadianopenfreeskiing.com
