Perisher Blue, NSW, July 1, 2008 - The long awaited snowfalls have finally arrived in a big way

The long awaited snowfalls have finally arrived in a big way! The falls began at 2.30pm yesterday and have continued throughout much of today, adding further cover to the slopes and bringing smiles to the faces of snow lovers around the resort. The highest recorded temperature in the Village was 0 degrees Celsius today, so certainly some very chilly conditions! At present the cover is quite dry and there are even some powdery pockets out there. Predictions of more snowfalls for later in the week have been greeted with great enthusiasm amongst holiday makers and keen snowriders!

15 lifts are expected to open tomorrow across parts of Perisher Valley, Blue Cow Mountain and Smiggin Holes. The Forester Quad Express is expected to open to Mid Station for skiers and boarders, and in Smiggin Holes 3 lifts will make their season debut. Remember that lifts will open according to weather conditions. And don't forget, at present there is a mini Fusion Park in operation on Front Valley, consisting of a 9m flat-down combo box, a 5m box and two 3m boxes, located skiers right of the Village 8 Express.
